A Response

So I know I'm late about this, but I have to put my input on something I read on Tumblr. There was this post concerning Onew from SHINee and the author of the post said that he or she didn't feel Onew belonged in the group. He or she also said that his voice didn't fit into SHINee's style and that he didn't make a presence when performing or what not. That is his or her opinion and to each their own. My thing is is that Onew would be missed and the following are reasons why: 

Onew's Voice:
To me, it's very different. I don't mean different as in weird or horrible, but as in unique and beautiful. His voice is automatically recognized when I hear him in a song. If I were to listen to those songs and not hear him on them, I'd definitely miss it. I think the producers cleverly put his singing bits into the right parts of each song to make them whole. Each member has their own unique voice and Onew has something I would agree with the author of the post, an opera/ballad type of voice. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, in fact, I think it's what makes his voice standout from the rest of the group.

Onew's Looks:
Now everyone don't get me wrong when I say that there are a couple of bad pictures of Onew, but there are. As there are bad pictures of the rest of the members and other K-Pop stars. Apart from Taemin and Key, Onew also has that cute factor about him. I'll make a recent comparison with SHINee's "Dream Girl" MV. There's that one scene where he's connecting both his index fingers and for that split second I'm like, "Oh my God, Onew is adorable." Although he's not on the top of my list of adorable and attractive K-Pop stars, he is however, very adorable. He's not at all unattractive. I must say there are plenty of people that do put him on top of their biases lists. 

There are other reasons, but it's getting pretty late and I have to get up early in the morning. My final word would be that Onew should stay part of SHINee. I believe he has a great impact on the group and maybe that's not true for everyone. In any K-Pop group you're going to have members that you absolutely adore and others that you've come to love regardless. I know I'm not the only one to think this, but there are K-Pop groups that you can't see without a founding member. Why? Because you've grown to love a group and learn and recognize each and every member's role within the group. That to me applies to SHINee, It just wouldn't be SHINee without Onew or any of the other members in it.
